BTW, as a workaround, if you are using no bitmapped fonts, you can
"fix" most of the epic/eepic problems by using a very high resolution
(like 5000 DPI), until this patch gets more widely distributed.

I'm going to download and print and examine every one of those
epic/eepic examples, along with a few test cases that I contrive
myself to make this problem more evident . . .
