yes, the deadline has been postponed, we only need a detailed
abstract in the first place, and you have at least Robin & me that are

i'll manage to be there
i cannot unfortunately say i'd realize some actual work (such as a
prototypal lucida or MathPi layout) in the meantime.
PS i think that the Mathemaica fonts are right in distinguishing
times & cross for instance, i second absolutely what you said (4 more
slots, no need for additional vertical bars, which are rather well
handled by amslatex \abs{} \lvert etc.)
